David has practiced sophisticated real estate and property law for over 20 years. He has advised a wide range of owners, developers and financial institutions in real estate leasing, acquisition, disposition and financing transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments and joint ventures.
David received his Juris Doctor with Honors from the George Washington University Law School, where he served on the Law Review, and his Bachelors degree from Brandeis University. Before deciding to found Kaufman Advisors, David practiced at some of the most prestigious law firms in the United States, including Fried Frank, Herrick Feinstein, & Lowenstein Sandler. He has also served as General Counsel for Rechler Equity Partners/R Squared, one of the tri-state area’s leading real estate developers and operators.
David has been honored by the Legal Aid Society of New York for outstanding pro bono service in connection with his contributions as a teacher to the Society’s Continuing Legal Education programs, and he has taught advanced Real Estate Law at Hofstra University Law School. An amateur comedian, David has also been a member of the Junior Council Steering Committee of the Kitchen, and is a proud member of the Friar’s Club.
